Instagram hashtags

Show the latest Instagram pictures with a certain hashtag.

During playback, each time the page is shown again, the app advances to the next available picture (depending on the exact configuration).

Instagram Business Account

This functionality used to be available as part of the regular Instagram app, but for security reasons, Facebook (owner of Instagram) has moved this into their ecosystem. As a result you need to setup an Instagram Business account or change your current Instagram account to a business account. Step 1 in this tutorial tells you how to do this. Next you also need to link that Instagram account to a Facebook page of which you are an administrator as described here. Also, make sure that you have the proper access to the linked Facebook page.

Properties

You can configure the app using the following properties:

Property Explanation
Facebook account (linked to Instagram Busines account) The Facebook account that manages the Facebook page that is linked to your Instagram Business account.
Page linked to Instagram Select the Facebook page that is linked to the Instagram Business account that you like to use.
Show pictures... Select what set of pictures you would like to show:
  • Top ones with hashtag...: top posts containing the hashtag that is filled out in the next field.
  • Last 24h with hashtag...: posts from the last 24 hours containing the hashtag that is filled out in the next field.
Show what pictures? (Only when style is set to "Callout" or "Polaroid") Configure what picture should be shown every time the app is shown again:
  • All recent (rotating): starting from the newest available post, it always advances to the next post. When the oldest is reached, it starts with the newest again.
  • Latest: always only show the latest picture
  • Latest - 1: always only show the second to latest picture
  • Latest - x: etc.
Maximum age of picture The pictures on your screen will never be older than what you select here.
Maximum number of pictures The list of pictures that is run through to show on your screen will never be longer than what you select here. The oldest pictures are dropped to enforce this size limit. Please note: the "Maximum age of picture" is the appropriate property to ensure only recent pictures are shown.
Style Select the display style you like:
  • Big picture/video: a single picture or video in native "Instagram style"
  • Social wall: a collection of pictures spread across multiple columns
Show header (Only when style is set to "Single picture") Show/hide the header.
Show footer (Only when style is set to "Single picture") Show/hide the footer.
Fixed image height (Only when style is set to "Single picture") This lets you set a fixed image height image to better retain your layout.
Number of columns (Only when style is set to "Social wall") The number of columns to fill with messages.
Background color palette (Only when style is set to "Social wall") Choose up to three different colors to have the app randomly choose as background color of the individual tweets. Also see our tips section about selecting and entering colors.
Skip page when this app is empty When enabled, the page this app is on will be skipped during playback when this app has no data to show.
